Anna Brewer

About

Anna is a British/Swedish artist who lives and works in London.

Anna sees the earthy optimism of ancient folklore and today's digitally saturated, high speed
techno soap opera as existing on the same cosmic delta. In her paintings they combine and stories
emerge - particularly stories about women and women’s bodies.

‘Women’s stories are beautiful, violent and dark and I hope that my paintings subliminally reflect that.’

Sometimes Anna pulls her stories from the spirit realm and sometimes she pushes on new
technologies such as AI and social media to actively seek them out.

‘These technologies are inescapable, everywhere and their impact on women’s stories is powerful and sometimes devastating.’

Before becoming a full time artist, Anna played a leading role in the media and tech industry
including heading up news, politics and information at YouTube.
